Strategic Connections is an enterprise level technology systems integrator offering SIX core specialty systems needed in construction of today’s modern facilities. These core divisions consist of Structured Cabling, Telecommunications, Audio Visual, Fire Alarm, Fire Protection, and Fireproofing.
Company Background and Experience
Strategic Connections was incorporated in October 1998, formed by the company’s CEO Scott McLaughlin. Strategic Connections delivers uncompromising solutions for its customers. Starting out as a structured cabling contractor, our business vision and genuine care for “Customer Satisfaction” has caused Strategic Connections to grow into a reputable technology installation firm that is well established and respected within industry circles, always expanding our capabilities in order to become a single point-of-contact company that can meet all of our customers’ turnkey low voltage needs. Strategic Connections has achieved steady growth every year since its beginning.
In August of 2009 Strategic Connections acquired OneSource Building Technologies Audiovisual, Sound & Lighting Group, formerly a Tyco company. OSBT-AVSL originally started out in 1949 as Long Communications. Long has been an icon in the audio-visual world, and is well known for its distinguished tradition of system design and installation without compromise. With this addition, decades of talent were added to Strategic Connections staff, creating one of the premier full service AV integrators in the United States. It also put four Strategic Connections office locations on the map.
In July of 2010 Strategic Connections acquired Communications Support Services Inc., (CSS). With this new addition Strategic Connections Inc. virtually doubled the products and services to its regional Structured Cabling portfolio, adding a seasoned group of management and installation professionals to its fast growing organization.
In July of 2011 the security division of Strategic Connections became a stand-alone company named Strategic Security Solutions, still owned by Strategic Connections. Strategic Security Solutions moved into its own space and created the fifth office location for Strategic Connections. In 2018, Strategic Security Solutions was spun off as a separate company but with strong ties and a solid partnership with Strategic Connections.
In February of 2013 Strategic Connections formed a standalone division dedicated to Fire Alarm and Life Safety Systems, creating the sixth core department in the Company. This commitment to provide the same quality and dependability with Fire Alarm systems was considerable. Strategic Connections did not spare any expense to bring in the talent, experience, and credentials required, adding a complete design/engineering/installation department to the fold.
In January of 2015 Strategic Connections repeated our 2013 expansion by adding our Fire Protection and Sprinkler division to enhance the Life Safety Systems technology we provide. As separate yet related departments, we now provide the annual inspections required by code for both Fire Alarm and Fire Protection systems.
In July 2022, Strategic Connections added another division to our Fire Life Safety group by adding Fireproofing, by acquiring the assets of Refuge Fire. Strategic now provides full fireproofing services from Intumescent paint, Cementitious foam and Mineral fiber fire retardant coverings.
