2017 Taste of Technology – Angus Barn October 26th
Strategic Connections will be hosting our annual “Taste of Technology” event at the Angus Barn Pavilion on Thursday, October 26th from 3-7 p.m. We have invited many vendors from each of our product disciplines to show off their newest and best solutions, all while providing a night of fun and entertainment to our guests. The theme of the evening is “Casino Night”, and we will be running various game tables such as blackjack, roulette, poker, and other casino games. While the games are afoot, our vendors will be sponsoring booths around the pavilion to demonstrate their newest technology and solutions for your business. Each of our vendors will be giving out funny-money to use at the game tables to purchase your chips, giving everyone a reason to visit as many vendors as possible and then go have fun!
At the end of the evening, we will have a raffle for various products and services, and your funny-money winnings will allow you to purchase raffle tickets. We hope that everyone can join us for a casino night of food, drinks, fun and entertainment at the Angus Barn Pavilion on October 26th for the Taste of Technology! RSVP below.
Continuing Education for Architects
The evening will be preceded by a certified class for architects to earn required continuing education credits for their certifications. The class being offered is “Emerging Technologies that will change the course of AV”. Architects will earn (1) AIA General Learning Unit. The class will be held in a private room inside the Angus Barn from 2-3:15 PM for architects who pre-register. Here is class information:
Moore’s Law postulates that the number of transistors in a dense integrated circuit doubles approximately every two years. This has often been extrapolated to imply that our ability to handle large digital files and integrate ever more complex digital systems into our society also doubles at about the same rate. The reality is that some changes are happening even faster than that. The changes happening in the A/V community will have profound consequences on the expectations we have regarding communication technology. Over the next few years we will witness the final extirpation of 20th Century analog systems such as composite, component and VGA video signals. In the same way that the HDMI connector fundamentally disrupted the industry, emerging technologies such as USB Type C, USB 3.1, USB Power Delivery v2.0, HDBaseT, HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort 2.0 and embedded active chipsets in unexpected places will land an impactful blow. But unlike HDMI, these changes won’t take 12 years to settle in. Prepare to see a new industry in half that time!
After the continuing education class, the main events of the night will begin.
