Strategic Connections is a licensed low voltage and unlimited electrical contractor specializing in the design and installation of communication and power infrastructures. Our services include design engineering and installation for interior and campus infrastructure cabling, audiovisual presentation systems for training rooms and executive conference rooms, high definition display systems, card access, biometrics and facial recognition systems, perimeter control systems, closed circuit television monitoring and recording devices,noise masking and paging systems, business telephone systems, multi-site rollouts, fire alarm systems, along with any fully licensed custom electrical construction services.

Serving the southeastern United States, Strategic Connections has grown to be one of the leading providers of high quality communication infrastructures. Regionally, Strategic Connections has provided services throughout North Carolina and South Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Georgia, Oklahoma, Kentucky, and Tennessee. With offices in Raleigh NC, Charlotte NC, Winston Salem NC, and Myrtle Beach SC, Strategic Connections has also performed work in Pennsylvania, Texas, Nevada, Maryland, Massachusetts, and California. Strategic Connections has provided services for companies including but not limited to, ABB, BD Technologies, BB&T, Credit Suisse, Fidelity Investments, National Church of God, IBM, Martin Marietta, Central Church of God, Network Appliance, NC State University, Pepsi, Progress Energy, RBC Bank, Revlon, RTI International, Sears, Solectron, Sprint, Target, UNC, Wake Forest University, U.S. Army, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Marine Corps, and numerous city and county government facilities.

Strategic Connections was formed by the company's President, Scott McLaughlin, incorporated in October of 1998, Strategic Connections has achieved steady growth every year since. From small local business support to the largest project the Department of Defense implemented in the United States in 2006, (over 100 buildings at Fort Bragg), Strategic Connections delivers uncompromising solutions for its customers.

In August of 2009 Strategic Connections acquired OneSource Building Technologies Audiovisual, Sound & Lighting Group, (AVSL). OneSource AVSL formerly LONG COMMUNICATIONS established in 1949, still carries on the long standing tradition of system design and installation without compromise. This unification between Strategic Connections and OneSource has created one of the premier full service integrators in the country. This allows us to provide a single source of accountability for all technology requirements for new and existing building infrastructure. We are very excited about the strength this union brings to our customers, providing the ability to support and respond to all structured wiring, power, security, audiovisual, sound, lighting, voice and networking needs for modern day businesses including but not limited to, Houses of Worship, Government and Educational markets large and small.

In July of 2010 Strategic Connections announced the acquisition of competitor, Communications Support Services Inc., also known as CSS Inc. With this acquisition, Strategic Connections Inc. added several new products and services to its regional portfolio of Structured Cabling, Professional Sound and Performance Lighting, Audio Visual, Security, Telephone and Electrical Services, as well as increasing its already experienced staff. Company founder and President Scott McLaughlin stated "We are very excited about this acquisition, CSS Inc. brings the same commitment to quality and customer service that have been the cornerstone of our business, while adding a seasoned group of management and installation professionals to our growing organization."
